WELL AFTER DARK, Mr. Cleave, one of the top local fashion designers, is let in by the back door, followed by a few of his toadies. Their big hair and skin-tight patent leather outfits draw murmurs of admiration from the dumpster bums.

"I told that creature Sproul I didn't want anyone seeing me here!" cries Mr. Cleave, upset. He rushes in.

A CREW OF FAWNING ASSISTANTS drag in bolts of cloth, rolls of vinyl, a sewing machine, and boxes full of buttons, buckles, zippers, etc.

 
 

THE MEAN WAITRESS has been drafted to serve as dressmaker's dummy. She stands on a bench, stark naked and very resentful, trying to give everyone erections with her lizard-like physique. She's not having much success.

 
 

MR. CLEAVE takes up his position in a chair near the wall, surrounded by his toadies.

Propped against a locker nearby is an official LEMCO promotional cardboard cut-out of a fresh-faced model in a waitress uniform, complete with Lemmy vest and Lemmy neckerchief.

 

A PRINTOUT of Spencer's revamped, computer-enhanced Lemmy is pinned to an easel nearby, for easy reference.
